Kyle Blondin (00:00.822)
Welcome to the Overrated Experience Sports and Sports Betting Podcast. I'm your host, Kyle Blondin. This is the third time now that I've had to re-stew this bloody recording. I'm happy to be here, happy to do it, because I want to make sure the fans get what they want. So let's get to it. The Overrated Experience Sports and Sports Betting Podcast, if you've not listened to our podcast, it is meant to be a square perspective from the world of sports.

Betting, that I am just like you. I like to take some action on those games, the high profile games, sometimes games that are on TV, especially football season. You got the Sunday night or the Monday night or I love to sports bet. And that's the kind of betting advice you're to get from a fan perspective. And in this episode, we're going to focus on the NHL Stanley Cup playoffs.

And we're go through some betting lines there, some of the things I'm thinking that I'll put some money down on, and I'm hoping you'll enjoy it. But if you enjoy this, you'll enjoy everything else we got. And I want you to join our X Follow the X page. And that is overrated, EXPER2. That's overrated, EXPER2. And let us know you're not a bot. I mean, I would love to know that everything, because every time somebody follows,

You can't tell if it's real or not. So please let me know if you're following. Give me some sort of nudge or DM to state that you're here because you like the podcast. All right. Here we go again. Third time. It's a charm, so they say. So the NHL kicks off Wednesday night. We have the Edmonton Oilers. We have the Florida Panthers. The matchup, it's not really surprising when you think about it.

The Edmonton Oilers are the best team in the Western Conference. The Florida Panthers are clearly the best team in the Eastern Conference.

Kyle Blondin (02:04.696)
Two best teams in the NHL.

two best teams in the NHL when you really think about it. Who's going to come out on top? We're going to find out. But first, what's going to happen tomorrow is Gary Bettman is going to take the stand. He's the commissioner of the NHL. He's going to talk about all the things and how the NHL is doing business wise and everything else. And he's also probably going to talk or give at least a big giant hint at where their position is on

the rumors that the NHL is interested in expansion. They already have 32 teams, but yet is looking at potentially expanding to places like Atlanta, Houston, possible to Kansas City, Quebec City. Now, sorry, crossed that off list. They're not gonna expand to Quebec City. I know you don't wanna hear it. I know you don't wanna hear it. I know you don't hear the bad news, but it's not happening. Okay, we're not going to Quebec City at all.

So, where do we go from here? Well, the NHL, when they pocket the expansion money, they don't have to count it as league revenue so they don't have to share with the players, which leads me to believe that the NHL is probably going to expand. And if you didn't know, the Atlanta area has already had two NHL teams. The Atlanta Thrasher's, who are now the Winnipeg Jets, and back in the day, the Atlanta Flames that are now, you guessed it, the Calgary Flames.

So I don't know what they're thinking. There's a big corporate base there, but I don't know if hockey works in Atlanta. Just let it go, Gary. Move on. Maybe you'll have better luck in Kansas City. Maybe you'll have better luck in Houston or somewhere else where they care. So we'll see tomorrow. We'll see how it plays out. But I think we're to get a giant hint at what's going on in the future plans of the NHL as far as expansion. Now heading into

Kyle Blondin (04:06.542)
Next season, we actually have the odds on fan duel that talk about who is and who are the betting favorites to win the Stanley Cup. And you won't believe it. I couldn't believe it. A plus 700 to Carolina Hurricanes are ahead of the Florida Panthers and Emmett & O'Reilly is a plus 750 to win next year's Stanley Cup. How is that possible? How is that? I don't know what rationale

Anybody would have to say hey That Carolina team is looking so damn good based on that five game atrocity that they Put forth against the Florida Panthers. Let me put my money on them. Let me wait over a year to see how My money plays out by putting a giant future on the Carolina Hurricanes so Strike while it's hot guys. If you like the Canes get on that

I say that sarcastically because I have no idea why the Carolina Hurricanes would even have a sniff at being the odds on favor. But that's a gambling world. So I think that'll flip probably soon. Now going into the off season, one of the big things around here in Toronto is the Mitch Marner saga. Will he come back? I can't believe that's even a question. I can't believe that's even a debate.

He's up there with the Chicago Blackhawks Toronto Maple Leafs are a plus 450 they have returned to Toronto or go to the Blackhawks and other teams that he's rumored to be going to potentially are the Carolina Hurricanes Well that explains why they're the Canes are up there for next year's potential Stanley Cup winners the odds on favorite Because Mitch Marner is going to take you and really add value to you

where you really need it and that's the playoffs because he's absolutely known for tearing it up in the playoffs.

Kyle Blondin (06:14.132)
Again, sarcasm. So, let's get to the final. Let's get to the NHL Stanley Cup final. Kicking off tomorrow night in Edmonton at Roger's Place. And did you hear the story that they are taking ice from what, at least seven Edmonton Oilers players from their home ranks, like McDavid's home rank back in Ontario here, that they'll mix in somehow, someway on the ice starting on Wednesday night?

So pretty cool, pretty unique, pretty different. haven't heard of that before. So that's the story. A nice little tidbit, nice little fun fact that you'll notice they'll talk about tomorrow during the broadcast. But here we go. Who's winning the cup? Who's winning the Stanley Cup? That's what it's all about. The two guys that bring out the cup. They're wearing gloves. All they do is travel around with the Stanley Cup. This is their time to shine.

I'm gonna say it as a Canadian, know, it's, you know, I'm gonna throw out the Canadian stuff because I really don't care if another city in Canada wins or doesn't win. If it doesn't matter, if it's not the least, where do I care? I don't care if you're having a parade in Edmonton, a parade in Vancouver, a parade in Winnipeg or Montreal. If it's not the least, I don't care, okay? However, I do care that I wanna see Drisital and McDavid

Win a cup they deserve it the skill set that they bring every night and every second shift they're coming over the boards To get going to put up points to put up goals to me that they're the best players in the NHL And I think their legacy is better off with the Stanley Cup ring attached to their name So that's what I hope happens. However, I think after watching the Florida Panthers steamroll the Tampa Bay Lightning Take a choke hold

On the Leafs after the least went up to nothing in the series, stop them game seven, really, really, take, easy work of the Carolina hurricanes, nothing much there, to stand their way and they keep going and they, they, you know, run you over and back up multiple times until they know the job is done. So, the Florida Panthers to me, bring it. They have the decor, the course been scoring. I think he's got 19 goals.

Kyle Blondin (08:38.062)
Uh, so far in the playoffs from the D and 19 goals, it's like 14, nevermind 14 goals or something like that. Uh, but Seth Jones is a tremendous pickup. Brad Marshawn is absolutely a killer in the playoffs and he's playing a reduced role compared to his spot in Boston for many years. So the Florida Panthers win this series. Sorry guys. Sorry, Edmonton, but not really sorry. Cause that's just the way it is. Uh, this game, this goes six games. So six games, even just.

predicting six games exact games that the series will go at least gives me a plus 200 yeah plus 200 I think there's good value there are six games at least all right I know that's stung but that's the reality of it when I look at the cons my voting and the odds the orders on fan duel bet 365

Draft Kings don't vary the same players in the same order that it's the odds are a little different But they rank the same Connor Mcdavitt no surprise is your favorite to win the cons might he's the Winner of the cons might back last year in a losing cause I Don't see it happened again, especially if Florida wins that he wins at a second straight year losing the Stanley Cup So Mcdavitt's best odds can be found at Draft Kings a plus 110 Sergey Bobrovsky

comes in second plus 280 is best bet bets on fan duel alexander barkhoff plus 600 to win the cons smith leon dryside will plus 800 to win the cons smith both on fan duel by the way keith keith kichuck math kichuck plus 2600 where i think the real value here is though is two players i think alexander barkhoff is kind of that unsung hero you'll notice that a lot of hockey guys

always like to go to the way to talk about the value that Alexander Barkov provides kind of that sound superstar the guy that doesn't get the praise but is an amazing hockey player that kind of gets shoved down your throat and I think that kind of respect will come out when the Panthers win the cup and Barkov gets voted MVP and that'd be a nice payday at plus 600 also one dark horse, Carter Verhage

Kyle Blondin (10:58.988)
of the Florida Panthers plus 7,000 of FanDuel. Carter Verhage produced five points against the Hurricanes, scored some big goals, some key assists, some guy to watch out for that might make a run in the Stanley Cup final. So that's my ConSmith picture on here. Also interesting ConSmith wager. Well the ConSmith wager, winner, wager, wager, come from Canada, and this is FanDuel.

plus one seventy five says no no they will not and look around the board and i see sir gave a rosky bark off could shock and tricycle and i think that the odds are pretty good to dvd p may go to one of those guys instead of mcdavid what else we got we got

hand off the cup. So if you like to really, really dig into these novelty bets, it's not really a novelty bet, I guess, but like she's kind of like unique bets that are only really established for the Stanley Cup final. Like who is each captain going to be the first to hand off the cup to? Now the Edmonton Oilers, if you think they're going to win, I think the value is to give the cup to Leon Dreisaitl who's at plus

320 Ryan Ryan Nugent Hopkins the probably longest tenured oiler is The odds on favor right now that Mcdavid will hand the cup to him first. I don't see it. I don't understand it don't know why but you know, there's two guys that carry this team and Ryan Nugent Hopkins is not that guy Okay moving on Excuse me couple cook bats before we end this podcast is Do you think the Connor Mcdavid could score 14 points?

in this series to break Wayne Gretzky's Stanley Cup final record. Plus 680, is it worth 10 bucks? I don't know. I don't see it happening. It might be a waste of money. Florida Panthers are, you know, when they shut McDavid down last year, they shut him down. So 14 points might be a bit of a stretch. Even though he's the best player on the planet. DraftKings.

Kyle Blondin (13:17.998)
Will it be a game with at least 10 or more goals in this series? Plus 110. I say yes. I believe that one of these games will get out of hand. High scoring, early barrage of goals in the first two periods, and maybe a couple empty netters at some point. So yeah, I'm going to take that plus 110 as a good value play. Well, man, that was quick.

and painless but really I got nothing more to say about the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. It's been a pleasure for you. Pleasure's all been yours of course as we exit but first I'm to tell you again follow Sun Axe at overrated EXPER2. That's overrated EXPER2. Let us know what your thoughts are on the final. Some of your best bets and maybe using a provider that we're not seeing and using.

that's offering better odds and or options for us players out there. So have a nice evening. Enjoy the Stanley Cup final. I'll talk to you again soon. The overrated experience is over and out. Bye bye.
